I'm Byungjoo MIN, the President of Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. Thank you for visiting our website.

Established in May 2009 as an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KIAT has been spearheading various initiatives, ranging from industrial technology policy planning to industrial-educational cooperation, balanced regional development, support for middle-market enterprises, support for technology commercialization, industrial infrastructure development, industry supply chain support, and international cooperation.

The rapid technological advancements in areas such as AI, big data, and IoT (Internet of Things) are significantly impacting the economy, society, and industry as a whole. Additionally, declining birth rates and an aging population have led to a decrease in the working-age population. To overcome the challenges we face and promote economic growth, innovation in the manufacturing sector is imperative.

I believe that solutions to numerous problems encountered in the 4th industrial revolution will stem from technological innovation. However, for active and challenging technological innovation to thrive, industrial technology that supports innovation must be robust and resilient.

As a specialized institution supporting active technological innovation in industry, universities, and research facilities, KIAT is dedicated to providing professional services necessary for the Republic of Korea to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution as a technology powerhouse.

We will continue our efforts to support a variety of innovation activities within the industrial technology innovation ecosystem through successful Industry-University-Institute Collaboration. We pledge to work diligently to be a trustworthy public institution for the people, corporations, and government.
